Most offices have their own unique filing system. So why should your folder have to be the same as everyone else’s? We offer a variety of folder styles, and a special option to design your own file folder. With so many options to choose from, it’s both easy and fun to create the perfect folder for your filing needs. Here is a quick guide to help you through the process and familiarize you with the selections.
First, you will want to choose a basic folder style: top tab or end tab, and letter size or legal size. End tab folders have three cut styles: straight cut, extended straight cut, and dual tab while the top tab folders have seven cut style options.
Ideally, you will want to pick a tab size that has enough room to include your file heading and any other information that helps make you filing system work better. Text headings, color-coded letters or numbers, date codes, and even barcodes can be added to improve the efficiency of your system.
Pick the Material for Your Folder
How often your filing system is accessed, the environment the folders are stored in, and your budgetary constraints, will guide your choice in folder material. We offer the following:
- Manila: a classic and economical choice.
- 100% Recycled Manila: an ideal choice for the eco-friendly office.
- Manila with Antimicrobial Protection: treated manila resists growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew.
- Watershed®/CutLess®: resists liquid spills, are dirt and finger-oil resistant, and significantly reduce paper cuts.
- Color: makes filing more efficient with color-coding.
- Kraft: perfect for frequent access or industrial settings.
- Pressboard: durable and dense, it resists wear and tear.
There are also options for point thickness: 11, 14, 17 or 18. The higher the point thickness, the heavier and more durable the paper stock is.
Decide If You Need Addition Room for Paperwork
If you plan on storing a large about of paperwork in each folder, you will want to increase the expansion capabilities. For Manila, Kraft, and Color Folders there are two expansion options: standard, which is scored for ¾” expansion and w-fold, which has a “w” like fold that expands to hold up to 1 ½” of paperwork. For pressboard folders you can add a Tyvek® accordion-pleat gusset that expands to hold between 1-4 inches of paperwork.
There are three available fastener types to choose from:
- Bonded: a strong fiber base bonds the brown enamel metal prongs of the fastener to the outside of the folders, but isn’t visible from the outside so it won’t scratch shelves or drawers.
- Embedded: all-metal fastener with brown enamel finish that’s recessed to the folder from the outside to provide superior strength and hold large amounts of paper.
- U Style: a flexible plastic fastener that allows the folder to function like a ring binder where pages can be added anywhere without removing other pages.

Are you tired of searching through your redrope file pockets for a file on a client, grabbing it, tearing the expanding gusset, and then finding out it wasn’t even the file you were looking for? Instead of wasting time, energy, and money replacing the expanding gusset file pockets, you can add a Tabbies handle to grab onto.
How Tabbie File Pocket Handles Work
Tabbies handles allow you to retrieve these important files with ease because they are made with Tyvek, which prevents the tearing of gussets. Additionally, the handles have a writing area to label your files and are color coded for easy recognition.
The Tabbies handle adhere to each side of your redrope file pockets and allows you to pull them instead of the expanding gussets. The Tabbies handles won’t rip when you pull them because they are made of the same tear resistant material, Tyvex, used in high quality shipping envelopes.
Additional Benefits of Tabbies Handles
Tabbies handles have a white writing area for labeling your expanding file pockets for fast and efficient file identification. Also, the handles come in different colors that can be used to classify different groups of files for even easier identification. Now when you are looking for a file you don’t have to read every label, you can just look for the corresponding color, which is a better solution since it’s easier to remember and identify colors than it is to read black and white writing.
- Available in 6 colors for quick identification and classification of file pocket types
- Made of tough Tyvek®resistant material to protect you expanding file pocket gussets from being torn from normal wear and tear
- Large area to write file name on for quick identification
- Labels come with tick marks for easy installation on 1-3/4″, 3-1/2″, and 5-1/4″ expansion file pockets
- Handle dimensions: 9-5/8″ x 2″
- Optional Mylar® label protectors to protect the file pocket name label from dirt.
If you are wondering where you can find Tabbies handles, look no further than StoreMoreStore. We have all the Tabbies handles you need at our online shop. And if you need any help or have any questions, give us a call at 1-855-786-7667.
All over the country businesses are downsizing their physical office spaces. Just four years ago each employee was allocated 225 sq. ft. of space, now they’re down to 150sq. ft. There are a multitude of reasons for these changes: rising costs of real-estate; increases in workers telecommuting or hotelling; and businesses switches to open office designs. But one thing hasn’t changed – businesses still have stuff to store.
Trying to maintain your storage capacity in less physical space is hard when you’re still relying on outdated storage systems like lateral file cabinets. To adapt to the modern office space, you’ll need to change the way you think about storage, and we can help. Here are 4 different storage solutions for stuff at your office that will maintain or even increase your storage capacity in a smaller space.
1. Convert Paper Files to Digital Documents
According to a story published on Entrepreneur.com, for every 30 copies printed in an office, 39% of them are just thrown away. On top of that, it costs about $25,000 to fill a four-drawer cabinet that holds 15-20,000 files, and $2,000 per year to maintain it.
To save on paper, labor, and space costs, many companies are moving (at least partially) to digital documents. And if you’re ready to take that step, we can help. Read more about our document scanning services in a previous blog here.
Many times it’s not the storage system itself that takes up all your space, it’s actually the space you need to access the system. Like the space for the drawer to extend in a lateral file cabinet, or the aisles between each row of shelving.
Sliding storage shelving gets rid of this unnecessary access space, and gives you back the floor space. Find out how sliding storage shelving works to get rid of clutter and save space here.
3. Oblique Hanging Compartments
Directly transferring office files into a perfectly organized open shelving system means you could fit three times the number of files into half the floor space required with lateral or vertical drawer file cabinets. But how can you transfer top tab files to open shelving without converting to side tab folders? You do it with Oblique hanging compartments.
The Oblique hanging compartments enable you to move to a more efficient style of storage shelving, without converting your filing system. Take a look at all the available Oblique hanging compartments here.
4. Rotary Storage Cabinets
Rotary storage cabinets work for everything in your office including files, office supplies, boxes, binders, books computer media, and more. And since the cabinets have two sides and spin 360 degrees, they provide way more storage capacity in much less space.
In fact, you can fit the stuff from 3 lateral cabinets in just one rotary storage cabinet. Find out what else you gain with rotary storage cabinets here.

Ever since the advent of the copy machine, businesses are storing more paper than ever. And as much as we talk about going paperless, that just doesn’t seem to be happening any time soon. So what are you to do with the piles of files all over your office? If you said keep them in lateral file cabinets, you’d be wrong. There are so many alternatives – both big and small – to lateral cabinets that will easily organize all of your paper. Here are the top 4 file storage systems that your business should own.
1. Sliding Mobile Shelves
Sliding mobile shelves are the modern answer to the lateral cabinet. The shelves use way less space, can store more than just files, are easy to access, and can be secured with doors. Your holiday decorations can be kept in the back shelves, while all your active files are stored up front. This set-up ensures that stored items are centralized to improve productivity.
2. Mail Sorters
Do you have a bunch of files on your desk? Or a large amount of brochures and forms? Either way, there’s a mail sorter that can store any type of paperwork you’ve got because they aren’t just for mail anymore. Use a small desktop mail sorter on your desk to organize files. Then put a large one in the office to manage brochures and forms.
3. Oblique Shelf Organizers
Have you ever actually used that space overhead in your cubicle, or is it mostly just a junk drawer? With the Oblique shelf organizer it becomes file storage. The compartments hang down to easily organize and store files.
4. Rotary File Cabinets
Double the storage capacity, plus space for other items besides files, AND the ability to lock up: You get all of this with rotary file cabinets. The cabinets can also be used to divide large areas or they fit in tight corners.

Folders and Pockets
Redrope file pockets work great for lawyers that need to store multiple documents and case files in one place. They even have a handle that enables you to easily grab the pocket.
Hanging file pockets allow you to store even more paperwork in less space. And they can be used on shelving, in file cabinets, in drawers, and even in overhead cubicle space.
Tabbies file pocket labels have a large writing area for you to name your folder. They also double as a handle for redrope file pockets and come in a variety of colors.
Smead ColorBar labels print one-piece labels from color bar label printing software from an ordinary office printer. The colorbar printing software and file folder name labels make organization, categorization and identification of files quick and easy.
Shelving dividers are one of the best ways to keep your files grouped and standing upright within their appropriate categories. In addition, the dividers keep your files packed just snuggly enough for easy access.

Engineers, architects, and construction managers all have one major thing in common – the need to efficiently store technical drawings. The best option is to scan them. But if your company can’t do that, then you need another way to store them. Here are 3 of the most popular ways to store technical drawings.
1. Rolled Up in Cubby Shelves
Rolling up your technical drawings and storing them in cubby shelves works great for most document types and sizes. You can store multiple sized drawings within just one cubby. And because they are rolled up, they are easy to access. Another reason to store technical drawings in cubby shelves is that your drawings are up off the floor and safe from potential damage. Finally, the cubby shelves are very cost-effective when you have a large amount of technical drawings to store.
2. Flattened in Flat File Cabinets
Within each drawer of the flat file cabinets you can store a large amount of technical drawings. And because they are stored flat instead of folded, you can be sure there won’t be any creases or marks. The cabinets also protect your drawings from potential environmental damage. The flat file cabinets are more expensive; however, if you need your technical drawings secure, they are your best option.
3. Suspended in Hanging File Compartments
If you group technical drawings together and need them labeled, then storing them suspended in hanging file compartments is a great option. The hanging file compartments also work really well if you already have shelving in place because the compartments will fit right in. And once again because your drawings are stored flat, they are safe from damage.
There are many different ways you can store your technical drawings, but these are by far the most popular. And you can find them all online from us at StoreMoreStore. And if you need another option or have any questions, please give us a call at 1-855-786-7667.
Are you tired of papers, files, and mail cluttering what little space you have on your desk? You know you could use that space above your cubicle. Of course you’re probably worried that everything will still end up in piles and that doesn’t really help your situation.
You need something that will actually get you organized. Papers labeled in the right folders; documents sorted by department; mail organized by date.
Well StoreMoreStore has the product for you, Oblique shelf organizers! The Oblique shelf organizer conveniently fits in your overhead cubicle to efficiently organize documents, forms, literature, mail, and more.
How the Oblique Shelf Organizers Work
All you have to do is simply set the unit in your cubicle, add the hanging folders with name labels, and start organizing. And by the way, when you purchase the Oblique shelf organizers from us we will include a set of Oblique V-Base and Box-Base hanging file folders absolutely free! Each folder comes with a convenient magnified label holder viewing lens and comes with a set of while name labels.
The standard widths for the Oblique Shelf Organizer are 33-3/4”, 39-34”, and 45-3/4”, but if you have other needs you can always call us toll free at 1-855-786-7667 for a custom size to fit your space.
Your boss has asked you to register for an event and sends you a PDF or Word document with the form to fill out and email back. This means you have to print it, fill it out, email it to yourself, and save it to your desktop before you can finally get it back over where it needs to go
And what do you end up doing with the paper version of the form? Throw it in a stack of papers on your desk. Of course you’ve added to a different problem: that pile of paperwork on your desk that never goes away. There has to be a better solution that doesn’t involve complicated filing processes that no one wants to deal with. Fortunately, there is an easy way to solve your problem: Oblique file folders.
Using Oblique File Folders to Get Rid of Paperwork on Your Desk
So how can you use the Oblique file folders? One way is to put them in your desk drawer, and drop paperwork in the folders instead of piling it on your desk. You can label the folders based on where the document needs to go. This way you can keep papers manageable for now, and then sort through them when the time is right.
And that form from the above scenario, you should probably put it in a folder to be thrown away. But not just in the trash! Make sure you shred it up so that any credit card or sensitive information is destroyed. If you don’t have a shredder for stuff like this, you can find one online at OSFU.
What Makes Oblique File Folders Different from Regular File Folders?
- are strong enough to hold almost 20 pounds of weight.
- have hooks that allow you to hang them in shelves or drawers.
- come with magnified, easy to read labels.
- work with letter, legal and oversized documents.

There is more to your filing system than the cabinet they’re stored in. A well thought out filing system will not only save valuable floor space, it will also increase worker productivity so that employees can spend more time actually working instead of searching for files. Need an example to understand the difference?
Instead of keeping files organized alphabetically in bulky lateral file cabinets, you can keep them stored on open shelving in redrope file pockets. The open shelving will increase your storage capacity over the lateral cabinets, and files will be visible for easy retrieval. The redrope file pockets have the additional benefit of grouping similar and like files together for even more efficient organization.
Redrope file pockets are a great way to keep folders organized. You can group folders together and keep them stored in the redrope file pocket because it has an expanding gusset. This is a great solution for lawyers that have many different files in many different folders that are all part of one case. You can keep each folder in just one redrope file pocket and have the whole case in one easy to access location.
To make the redrope file pockets even more convenient, you can attach a Tabbies handle. It allows you to pull on it when you are reaching for a file instead of the redope’s gusset. The handle is made of ultra durable Tyvek®, which is the same material used in high quality shipping envelopes, so you know it won’t tear. The Tabbies handles also have space for you to label the contents of the pocket and come in 6 different colors that make for easy file recognition.
